Technology Behind Honeywell's HiSiv Filter

Honeywell Air Purifiers have an award winning design which offers protection from indoor air pollution in a durable and aesthetic package. The air purifiers are made from high quality poly carbonate for a light weight build. Honeywell uses a three stage air filtration process in its home and office air purifiers.

Pre-filter and HEPA Filter

The first stage in the filtration process is made up of a pre-filter which removes most of the larger dust, hair, PM10 and pollen particles from the air. The second stage is a high quality HEPA filter, which filters out the finer dust particles which escape the pre-filter. Honeywell uses H11 class HEPA filters for maximum protection from PM2.5 particles, removing almost 99.97% of these pollutants.

The HiSiv Filter

Finally, the air is passed through the patented HiSiv filter which has a unique honeycomb design. HiSiv filter remove airborne chemicals, microbes, and hazardous volatile organic compounds from the passing air. The HiSiv filter uses a patented technology to adsorb compounds such as formaldehyde, indoor smoke, and other toxic gases etc. The harmful effects of these pollutants are well documented, and if inhaled in excess quantities these pollutants can expose you to various health risks. HiSiv technology was originally developed by Honeywell to be used in petrochemical plants where the concentration of harmful gases is much higher as compared to our indoor environments.

The HiSiv filter also removes foul odours from the ambient air by capturing the odor inducing compounds in the air. So, if your home or office is near an area where odours and toxic gases from outside regularly enter the indoor environment, a Honeywell Home Air Purifier with HiSiv filter can be a useful investment for you.

Life of Honeywell Air Filters

Honeywell promises up to 3000 hours of usage before the filters need replacement. The change however may depend on the levels of pollution in every particular case. You can refer to the high accuracy pollution sensor on your air purifier which lets you know of the air quality via an indicator or a display.
