What is the Difference Between Active and Passive Air Purification?

Active Vs. Passive Air purification

Air purifiers with active air purification are also known as ionisers. These products release negative ions inside your home or office. The ions stick dust particles in the air to earthed conductors such as walls, ceilings and other surfaces. While air ionisers can remove dust from the ambient air, they also have an associated risk.

Good quality air purifiers come with HEPA filters, which can remove 99.9% of indoor pollutants. The filters remove both coarse and fine pollutants such as PM10 and PM2.5. Passive air purifiers also have an activated carbon filter which arrests harmful gases, smoke, and odors.
